This is an SM32 Phil Sharples Simplex kit by Malcolm. A lot of detail has been added on and around the radiator as it is very visible on these locos. Some compromises have been made to accommodate the motor etc. and the cab space is quite cramped. It is planned to mount a LocoRemote circuit board and a LiPo battery under the bonnet.
This is Tan Jung Dawai by James, under construction in 009 and based on the Ffestiniog. A lower slate processing site with a row of workers cottages based on those at the Welsh Slate museum. The shed is from plans in a book on a quarry near Betws-y-Coed. All are scratch built from board and DAS. The stock is mostly Dundas kits, and “Prince”, made 60 years ago is from nickel silver sheet, with an Ibertren chassis.
Richard is building two Railroad Recollection HOn30 Yosemite Short Line flatcars, seen here with a standard gauge flat that is also being built. Sawn lumber will ship from the NG to SG on a forthcoming layout as it did with the prototype. The underside of one with truss rodding added and Microtrains trucks & couplings attached. Also, Richard has made a start in repainting an HOn30 Minitrains Combine into Empire City Railway colours. An O-16.5 wagon scratch built by Geoff and loosely based on the Welshpool & Llanfair Railway sheep wagons.

1: Two cottages destined for a small O9 layout by Ian. Walls are made with thin wood with textured coverings -sandpaper and Faller Stone sheet. 2: A loco shed being constructed for a new 009 layout. Based on Snailbeach shed and made with wood walls covered in brick paper, ventilators have yet to be added.
Another wonderful 1:16 scale locomotive by Bill, it runs on 00 track (10.25″ gauge). Powered using two AAA batteries to a standard Hornby 12v 0-4-0 chassis, it hauls well. The body and controls are made from cardboard.

Alan has been attempting to finish a few items off this month. 1: His O-16.5 Tin Turtle has had rivets and smaller details added before painting. 2: An O-16.5 freelance loco is now finished and he has made a cardboard mock-up scaled-up to 16mm SM32 for a larger scale version. 3: The 16mm Fisherman’s Hut now has windows, lights, signs and a fish counter.A lovely O-16.5 refurbished second hand GVT loco by Ray which was purchased at one of our Open Day/Exhibitions in Beccles (lets hope they start again soon!). The Peco whitemetal body is on a old Triang Hornby J83 chassis with “Magnahesion”! The loco has been detailed, repainted, lined and weathered.

1 & 2: The start of a new “works” layout by Graham in O9 scale. The baseboard started out as an 009 layout, but it has been extended by 4″ and the track altered to accept these MDF 00 scale buildings by Scenic Route Models. Two new Unit Models wagons are on the front siding awaiting finishing with paint. 3: He has also just painted these white metal Wild Animals by Langley Models for “Raven Hill”.
A new member, George, has sent in this image of his grandfathers lovely Cornish layout in O-16.5 scale and a George England loco (amongst several other items) which he has inherited. The “Trenwheal Valley Railway” is a fictitious line on the River Fal, and of course like all great layouts has an entire history with maps, pictures and track layouts.
