With lockdown and restrictions still continuing we invited members to send in photographs of their projects again this month. Here is a selection:
Stuart has developed a 7mm scale Ex Admiralty toastrack coach. He is getting correct wheels from Alan Gibson to complete.Dave has built a double test track using a Scale Model Scenery BB022 400mm x150mm diorama baseboard, and has created a double track test board with a 16.5mm track and a 009 track to test the stock from both of his layouts.
Graham has nearly finished one of the baseboards on his 09 scale layout to be called “Raven Hill”, and it features a bridge over a waterfall. Also being constructed is the passenger station using a Highland Castings Small Waiting Room (HCBKO23).
Mamod SM32 track being restored by Stewart on behalf of the Halesworth to Southwold Narrow Gauge Railway Society for their recently acquired live steam stock, and a Glyn Valley Tramways Nn3 loco receiving paint. Stewart has added pipework and bell housing to the model.
Richard S: His two 3D locos are painted and their mechanisms are loosely fitted. On the layout, track laying is complete now. Three points are motorised using MERG EasiPoints circuits powering 9g micro servos in MERG 3D printed mounts. Three further EasiPoints kits have arrived to power the other three points. Frog switching is via micro switches added to the servo mount.Bertie has completed the chassis for a 009 Darjeeling Himalayan Class B with complete moving Walschaerts valve gear. It has been the most challenging modelling he has ever tackled.
Alan has made progress on the 16mm scale Aldeburgh beach boat and the fisherman’s hut. The boat has it gunwales nearly on and the “fit out” continues with the work lights the navigation lights and the masts. The fishing hut has had more washes of paint.
Jeremy N. has built a Tram loco very loosely based on a J70 in 009 scale and now mounted on a Kato 109 chassis. He has started a new micro layout: 42″ x 9″ keeping it as simple as possible with just one point. Ian shows one of the trains from ‘Whimsey’, a small pizza layout in progress. Loco and coaches from Shapeways.
