It was quite a quiet, relaxing meeting for our November gathering (despite a raging gale outside) and about ten members stayed all day, or popped in for and hour or two. Videos were kindly shown by Richard, and fish & chips appeared at lunch time. Here are some projects that were worked-on or displayed:
Bachmann Spectrum 0n30 0-4-0 Porter loco and tipper wagons displayed by Barry.Stewart was building trestle supports for a framed operating diorama.
Graham was test running his 009 layout “Shortwaite Hill”. Here are two pictures of a Minitrains Bagnall and passenger train, one entering Shortwaite Station, and another passing the upper goods yard.
Stuart showed new Norfolk Heath Works 009 scale Tramway Inserts (under-development) which were very finely detailed, and a Corner Module unit.
Richard displayed new 009 models, amongst others an A1 models Railbus on a Kato Shorty chassis for his layout “Thurtey” and a well-modelled and lettered bogie dairy van for “Shipmeadow”. Richard also brought along his 009 “Lester Tin Mine Engine House” shunting layout.Martin was constructing a Gn15 scale Porter style 0-4-0 loco based on an adapted 00 scale Smokie Joe chassis, it is seen here with the Sand Hutton Parcels/Brake van.Inspired by Stewart’s “framed dioramas”, Graham is also making a framed 09 module in just 20 inches x 4.5 inches, can it be done? we’ll see. It is made in an old drawer. If successful, other units may follow too.Chris was making wagon loads using some very detailed Skytrex resin castings.Dave has improved his Walmington Pier layout by adding an effective photographic back scene and some groynes down on the beach.
