September 2019 Meeting

I think I counted 14 members that attended our all day meet. It was a chance to bring anything along to run, test, or build, or just chat. Videos were showing all day too. Several members were building or painting models at various tables, and two new, but familiar faces came along. Here are a few photos as usual:-

Stewart Green’s lovely seafront scene provisionally named “Beside the seaside”. This will be one of a series of “framed” scenes for a wall display.
Another seaside scene and a familiar model by Dave Carson. His Victorian “New Walmington Pier” has been exhibited many times around East Anglia and has lots of character.
This is the landward end of the pier with the beach and lift. The tram is a Southend pier car Shapeways 3D print running on a Kato chassis.
Graham Wilson brought along this 0-16.5 Irish bogie guards van, a kit by an unknown maker.
Another 0-16.5 Guards van was this GVT Smallbrook model obtained by Ray. He has repaired and painted it.
A new Shapeways saddle tank loco and prototype coach in 09 scale built by Graham Watling.
A PECO 009 “Jeanette” kit running on an Arnold chassis which was repaired by Jim, and now runs very well.
Another quirky scratch built model built by Bill in 1:16 for his Group challenge diorama, based on a Brian Clarke drawing.
Three familiar Hoe/009 locomotives that were “for sale” by Ray, the Roco (33209) six-wheeled diesel, Roco (33241) Tank loco, and Bachmann Baldwin “Hummy” in weatherd black. T
The SM32 scene built in mdf by Stuart Hughes for our first group “challenge” in 2015, now owned by Alan.
