January 2022 Meeting

Norfolk & Suffolk Narrow Gauge Modellers

Ten of us gathered at Barsham Village Hall for our first meeting of 2022. Several different models were being worked-on, but very few completed models displayed this time. Here are a few pictures:-

4mm, 3ft (12mm) gauge Southwold Railway trains displayed by Stuart, who obtained these lovely models second-hand recently. “Wenhaston” with goods stock, and “Blyth” with both open verandah and closed coaches.

Graham’s O9 scale “drawer module” was given a run. Here, new 4-wheel coach and recent loco build are at the tiny station.

Bill’s 1:16 garden line models in progress. The skip wagon is being re-built with the skip being support by straight girders to look more “home-made”.

Richard has just completed this 3D printed GE style steam tram loco in 009.
Ray was painting some structures made from Wills Stone sheets for his 009 Lynton & Barnstaple style layout. A road over-bridge, cottages, and barn/workshop.
Stuart has made some Corris Slab wagons from thin mdf, the production ones of which will go into his Norfolk Heath Works product list. The steel wagon is a for a “gravity train” and runs on a Kato Portram chassis.

Left: David was programming electronic modules for HOe/009 track circuits on his layout. Right: John was also on his laptop designing platform units for 3D print. He had also just completed some prototype 009 loco couplings in different lengths for Kato chassis coupling pockets, which fit very well.
