December 2025 Meeting

Thank you to Richard, Zane and Sarah for providing us with seasonal food on December 6th, it was quite a busy meeting with plenty of models displayed too. I am sure I didn’t get round all the work tables, so I apologise to anyone I have missed.

Displays:-

Here’s Santa and Rudolph on their rounds, displayed by David.
Two O-16.5 locomotives displayed by Barry, this one is a Barclay Class E white metal kit by S&D Models with a Mahano chassis.
The second is a scratchbuilt “Tom Rolt” with a Dapol chassis.
FK3D Print O9 (Long) Side Tank tram loco built by Ray.
A 009 Beccles & Bungay Railway train headed by a Bachmann Baldwin displayed by Richard.
Another B&BR loco displayed by Richard, once a bachmann “Peter Sam”.
Completed huts prior to painting, built in O scale by Chris for a combined O-16.5/O9 new layout.
A O-16.5 coach based on the W.H.R Gladstone Car built by Geoff G.
W.I.P. – Geoff is also building this Bagnall style 2-4-0 powered by remote control.
W.I.P. – This scratchbuilt open-backed lorry is to be used by Geoff on a new indoor O-16.5 layout.
Graham has completely re-built his first two O9 short bogie coaches to reduce the width, making them more to appropriate 15″ gauge size.
Jim brought along two 009 locos, this one is a Matt Ditch Hunslet tram.
Jim’s other 009 tram loco is a saddle tank 3D print.
Geoff B displayed this fine O-16.5 Chattenden & Upnor toastrack coach by Ducket Models (3D print). The roof is due to be replaced as it has warped slightly.

Three photos above of Graham’s (my) HOe layout “Sampson Vale”. A combination of brain failure, two track obstructions, a dodgy turnout, a different controller, and un-labelled switches meant it didn’t run well on the day, but these things can always be ironed out (not sure about the brain though). The layout is a total reconstruction of a competition layout built in 2003 and running mostly vintage stock.
