October 2024 Meeting

Norfolk & Suffolk Narrow Gauge Modellers

12 members attended our October meeting on the 5th of the month. We discussed what open days/exhibitions that we would run in 2025 and also announced the result of the vote for the 2025 Group Challenge which was to “Scratch build a vertical boiler loco. A proprietary chassis can be used as a basis.” Here are some photos from the day:-

Unfortunately there wasn’t many completed models displayed on the Group display stand this month:-

Ray has built two small tanker wagons for O-16.5 gauge, much of the bodies scratch built, and also using OO wagon chassis.
Clive displayed this freelance Hunslet/Baguley diesel 3D print.
Graham displayed one of his O9 trains, “Griffin” is a Narrow Rails Freelance diesel with cab, an Avalon Line van and two fk3dprint vans.
Graham also ran his “Pye Rigg Works” layout, here is “Knucker”, a Ransomes Rapier loco hauling a goods train.

Work Tables:-

Geoff was adding Northampton Ironstone stonework effect to his low relief backdrop street.
Richard was preparing two 3D prints for their chassis and further work. A centre cab diesel and a tram loco body.
Stewart was building a Southwold Railway “Wenhaston” body for Nn3 gauge using two N6.5 Peco loco kits and a Marklin chassis.
Stuart made the structure of this large O scale tree using a 3D printing pen.

Bill was making a cradle for the body of this 1:16 scale loco chassis.
Clive was building a Dundas Models 009 Hudson Dropside Wagon.
