About 15 members attended our meeting on 6th April, a good turn-out as some members were exhibiting at the Norwich Model Railway exhibition that same day.
Here are some photos from the meeting:-
Above photos: Malcolm has been busy refreshing the Late Reverend Teddy Boston’s Southwold Railway scenic’s, repairing buildings, track and generally preparing the layout for display at the Southwold Railway Trust’s Steamworks. The work has been sympathetically done with a couple of personal touches also by Malcolm. The layout will shortly be returning to the SRT. Richard brought along the little Staithe micro layout he’s been working on. Now called Blythford Staithe which is part of the Beccles & Blythford Railway (and part of the Beccles & Bungay Railway group). Track has now been laid, wired up, traverser/cassette board adapted, 2 of the 3 uncoupling magnets installed and it was being test run. The tram locos, a Nigel Brooks rebuilt tram and a Fourdees tram have now been painted in B&BR livery.Geoff is currently building a O-16.5 tractor based loco, a work in progress, converting a diecast tractor, fitting it to a motorised wagon chassis and making a brass cab for it. The loco is radio controlled and connects to the coal wagon in the photo which houses the battery and the receiver. The wagon is interchangeable with other locos.Above three photos: Bill was displaying some models on the Group display stand, and has built a 1:12 scale Heywood style open wagon using his usual materials. He had also finished a 1:16 van with the ironwork now finished and using a TriAng chassis.Above two photos: Alan was displaying some O-16.5 Lionheart Models Lynton & Barnstable coaches and a loco.David was working on his 009 test track layout which uses Kato track. He was running-in a selection on new Aru Model chassis and they were superb runners for such tiny chassis. He had 3d printed a mill building which he’s covered with Scale Model Scenery downloadable & printed paper.
