December 2023 Meeting

Norfolk & Suffolk Narrow Gauge Modellers

I think I counted 14 members attending our slightly festive meet. I spotted some mince pies floating around, plus we had sausage and bacon rolls freshly cooked and served by Carol and Zane, thank you to them. The meeting saw the usual mix of work tables plus testing a couple of layouts.

Here’s a few photos:-

Richard’s “Staines Barn” has been extended to produce a much more complete scene. The brake van has been un-coupled and is ready to be run round to the back of the train, pictured by the newly added bee-keeping colony.

Graham brought along a newly restored O9 Avalon Line freelance open cab diesel kit.
These are super 7mm Modelu figures (“People in Conversation bundle”) painted by Ray.

Work Tables:-

The rest of the Group were working on projects:-

Stewart was concocting a three-quarter relief Cafe for his French NG layout “Sainte-Hilaire”.
Malcolm was strengthening the chassis of a Plateway Models SM32 Cattle Van and adding details.
Bill painted two brick columns to support a water tank in 1:16.
Neville spent quite some time squeezing-in HO driver figures to HOn3 locomotives.
George was building 4mm low-relief walls to represent the side of a power station.
This large scale track will be detailed as a mining scene and also be used for a multi-level base for Stuart’s NSNGM Challenge display.
Another base section under construction was Geoff’s O-16.5 Challenge.
Jim was building some Wills SS37 4mm Market Stalls to add to one of his layouts.
