February 2023 Meeting

Norfolk & Suffolk Narrow Gauge Modellers

There were 15 or so members attend at our February meeting including two new visitors who are interested in narrow gauge modelling. As usual many members were making or painting models, track modifications, and even stonework at their work tables or displaying locos and stock. The recently supplied new furniture in the hall really improves things.

Barry’s recent O-16.5 purchases: A Smallbrook Studio “Iris” Side Tank, a bogie coach made from Peco kits and two un-identified bogie coach kits.

The beginnings of David’s Challenge layout approx. 1 metre long, which will have electronically powered turntables at each end for sorting and shunting wagons.

Work Tables:

A bare 009 scale 3D Kerr Stuart diesel print by David displayed by Richard.
Stewart has started making a small layout using vintage Tri-Ang Continental TT stock.
Chris was adapting some 009 turnouts to give a 15″ gauge light railway appearance for O9.
The bare bones of a tank wagon by Nigel for O-16.5 based on a vintage Hong Kong chassis .
Neville was making this 1928 Long Baggage Car for HOn3, made by Model Railroad General Store, USA.
Another bare 3D (prototype) print for HOn3 displayed by Richard.
Geoff was trialling paint colours for his (422 Modelmaking and Slaters) goods stock.
Geoff also created is own stonework and was getting colours to replicate the Ironstone walls.
Mike was making various 009 Dundas kits including Tallylyn Railway Slate wagons.
Ray was making this 009 Society RNAD Van.
