October 2016 Meeting

We met on October 3rd, and there was a record attendance for one of our monthly meetings of 15 people.  It was a great little meeting with lots to see and we never got round to our formal chat.

Alex brought this superb Hudswell Clark locomotive from Narrow Planet running on a Minitrains F&C chassis.  It is seen running on a new 4ft baseboard which he is going to create a new layout upon.

The layout, originally built by Lee Bryant and named "Thurtey" to celebrate the Wessex Narrow Gauge Modellers 30th anniversary is 30" x 30" and the track plan is in the shape of a "30" and he built the layout for £30!

This is the "3" shaped scenic frontage with track running onto piers on a seafront scene.

 

 

 

Richard also bought a long another loco, a Dapol Drewry kit bash seen pullig a bogie hopper wagon of unknown origin, and two Shapeways open cattle wagons of which one of them can be seen behind Deutz diesel number 21.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Graham brought along his trial Gn15 scale layout "Longstone Maintenance Shed", and seen are two Smallbrook Studios locomotives, a Harlequin and a Columbine. These are running on standard Hornby class 0F "00" gauge chassis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stewart brought along a new layout uder construction in 1:450 scale T gauge. Trains and track are Japanese KK-eishindo models.  The layout will feature a promontory, hills and rocky cliffs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bill is spending many hours constructing on of his usual very detailed deisel locos in card.  This is running on a Lima chassis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Barry displayed at least ten Gn15 locos, many to the exact G scale (1:22.5).  Here are three of them:

No.10 a scratch built deisel on a Bachmann Gasmech chassis, Steam loco No.5 scratch built on a Fleischmann Magic Train chassis, and a Sidelines "Gnat" running on a Black Beetle chassis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Along with the Glyn Valley loco Stuart 2 was displaying his train of GVT Peco four-wheelers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Roger displayed his first 009 loco kit, a Peco "Jeanette" running on a Minitrix chassis, and below, one of his later models, a Dolgoch running on a 0-4-0 Arnold chassis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
 

Stuart built this Gn15 scale open 12-seat Heywood style coach in card as a prototype for more coaches in different configurations to follow.
