October 2018 Meeting

Around 15 members gathers for our October meeting.  There were lots of locomotives: chassis, bodies, part-built and completed on display, and at one point I counted 39 different models.

We reviewed our Open Day and our upcoming Running Day Exhibition on October 13th.

Here are a few photos from the evening.

Richard was displaying his 009 scale logging train hauled here by a large diesel bought recently at our open day.

Geoff models in 0-16.5 scale using radio control and this freelance loco has received a new second hand (and re-built) 4-wheeled chassis, it is an old Tri-Ang chassis with new motor and coupling rods.

Another lovely loco was this 7mm NGA LKM Ns2 Diesel displayed by James.

This is a down-loadable kit of Downing Street buildings built and displayed by Alan.

Alan is also building this 16mm scale warehouse from a group of timber buildings near the nets sheds at Hastings Stade.

Graham brought along his new Minitrains Bagnall Wing Tank, a restored Dundas 4-wheel coach from 1982 (once owned by Ray Fothergill), and new Dundas wagons for his 009 layout under construction named "Shortwaite Hill".

Martin brought along this Gn15 scale loco and some highly detailed Bachmann 0n30 scale side-dump tipping wagons.

Also displayed by Martin was his Gn15 Cuban layout, which has more work to do to complete it.  A 30hp scratch built Simplex is seen with the Bachmann wagons.

Barry brought along several Gn15 scale models.  This is a battery-powered bogie tool storage loco with flashing amber warning light built from a Norfolk Heath card kit.

Barry also displayed an array of card-built locos that he had bought from Iain on Ebay,  as also shown in the following two photos.

Bill has been building more low relief structures for his 1:16 scale shunting puzzle layout.  A garage frontage, old sheds, coal staithe and water tower.

Chris is building no less than five 09 scale locomotives at the same time.  They are built from plasticard and parts of 00 scale tank locos running on Kato 4-wheeled tram chassis.

Stuart recently picked up this H09 Jouef Playcraft P1600 mining train set dating from the 1960's.

Neville is constructing a laser cut wood kit "Munn's Station" in 0n30 scale by Laser-Art (Branchline Trains).  It is a combined goods depot and passenger station building.
